Demise of the Daring Leader

Jayalalitha was born on 24 February 1948, at Melukote, Karnataka. Jayalalitha's father, Jayaram, was a lawyer, died when Jayalalitha was two years old. Her mother Vedavalli relocated to Madras since 1952. she took on the screen name of Sandhya and acted in Tamil films. Jayalalitha completed her childhood education at Church Park Presentation Convent  in Chennai. In Chennai, Jayalalitha trained in classical music, western classical piano, and various forms of classical dance. She started her film career in kannada film "Chinnada Gombe" which was her debut film. In tamil she made her debut by the film "Vennira Adai" in 1965. She lead her film career from 1965 to 1980.

Jayalalitha claims that Ramachandran, who had been chief minister for the state since 1977, was instrumental in introducing her to politics. In 1982,she joined the AIADMK. 

In 1991 The ADMK alliance with the Congress won 225 out of the 234 seats contested and won all 39 constituencies in the centre. Re-elected to the assembly, she became the first female, and the youngest, chief minister, of Tamil Nadu.The Jayalalitha-led AIADMK lost power in the 1996 elections. 

In April 2011, the AIADMK won the 14th state assembly elections. Jayalalitha was sworn in as the chief minister of Tamil Nadu for the third time. On 27 September 2014, Jayalalitha was sentenced to four years in jail and fined Rs 100 crore by the Special Court in Bangalore for disproportionate assets case. On 17 October 2014, the Supreme Court allowed her once again to hold office and on 23 May 2015, Jayalalitha was sworn in as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for the fifth time. 

Jayalalitha was again elected as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu in the May 2016 elections in the R. K. Nagar constituency. She is the second Chief Minister after M. G. Ramachandran, to serve consecutive terms as Chief Minister.

On 22 September 2016, Jayalalitha was admitted to Apollo Hospitals, Greame's Road, Chennai, for infection and acute dehydration. Over the next 74 days, she was treated by a team of specialist doctors from Apollo, AIIMS and from the UK.

On 4 December, she was re-admitted to the CCU after she suffered a cardiac arrest and her condition was "very critical" and that she was on life support. On 5th December 2016 at 11:30 PM the hospital officially announced the death of the chief minister Selve J.Jayalalitha.

The demise of this daring leader have left tamilnadu in strong worries. Tamilnadu people are being worried on hearing the death of Jayalalitha. Her disappearance was a great loss for tamilnadu. Even the nature have taken her she will be living in the hearts of all people of tamilnadu. Her name should be carved in golden letters in the world history. We all pray for her soul to rest in peace. We miss you AMMA.
